Born in Jefferson, Iowa on December 3, 1915 to Josephine and Arthur Baum, Ginny moved to California at age six. She graduated from Belmont High School in Los Angeles in 1932. While attending school, she appeared in a motion picture entitled "All These Children." The studio executives wanted her to continue her movie career, but due to a bout with scarlet fever which affected her hearing, she declined.
She married Nelson H. Thomas on April 3, 1936 and they enjoyed over 50 years together. She loved gardening, traveling on cruise ships, and road trips with her family. She also loved Las Vegas and Laughlin, but she especially loved visits from family and friends.
Ginny is survived by daughters Diane Pruitt (Jim) from Paradise, California; Linda Sumner (Sam) from Mohave Valley, Arizona; Susan G. Thomas from Paradise, California; Joyce V. Hargrove (Jim) from Long Beach, California and sons Tommy N. Thomas from Lompoc, California and Charles Thomas (Ramalia) from Buena Park, California. She had 16 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
