Samuel SooHoo died peacefully at the age of 81 years. He was proud to say that he was born and raised in San Francisco’s Chinatown. He attended the prestigious Lowell High School and went on to graduate first in his engineering class at the University of California at Berkeley. As a specialist in Petroleum Reservoir Engineering, he worked for a number of agencies, including Atlantic Richfield, the State of California and the City of Long Beach.
Samuel was a bright and gentle man whose love of family time and spending time discussing and preparing wonderful meals were the focus of his life. He was an ardent fan of professional and collegiate sports, rarely missing a televised playoff game.
His opinions, great wit and unconditional generosity will be greatly missed by his wife Ruth and their children Nancy, Laurie, Bob and Tom and his grandchildren Erin, Jaime and Alexis.
