Moving to Long Beach in 1962, he developed a great love for sports. Ron's first visit to Blair Field was when he was in the 9th grade. He wanted to see one of his friends play baseball. Ron immediately loved Blair Field and followed all baseball teams.
Ron attended Marshall Junior and Millikan High schools. Ron followed Millikan's basketball, baseball and girl's volleyball teams.
He worked for Eastman (now Office Depot) in Signal Hill where he had many friends. He met his best friend "Bear" Marsh bowling at Java Lanes. Ron bowled a 278; Bear a 300. Ron tossed his bowling ball Bear's way—a friendship was sealed for over 30 years.
Ron loved animals. His last cat named "Bob" meant the world to him as did his many friends.
