Linda A. Carnes
Born September 14, 1943, Artesia, California
Entered into Rest May 5, 2004, Long Beach, California
Although my mother never received any posthumous awards or ever had her name in any news headlines, she was a hero to many. She had outstanding love for people and our military in her lifetime. When some members couldn't get home for holidays with their families, she shared our home with them.
Her mother, Lyla B. Quinn; father, Edward R. Carnes; sister, Grace L. O'Brien and son, Robert A. King predeceases her. She is survived by her remaining children: Leonard (Terri) King of Corona, California; Gary (Terri) Moorehouse of Shelby, Ohio; Joseph (Michelle) Geringer of San Jacinto, California and Deana (James) Cox of Long Beach, California and also by her remaining sisters, Katherine (Jack) Hollon of Eugene, Oregon; Paula Armstrong of Hayward, California and Susan (Jerrold) Garner of Long Beach, California; four granddaughters, nine grandsons and many aunts, uncles, nieces, cousins and many, many friends.
