Katherine
“Kat” Howard
Born September 26, 1960, Harbor City, California
Entered into Rest April 9, 2008, Torrance, California
Kathrine
“Kat” Howard’s greatest happiness came in hearing her
audience’s laughter.
Kat performed
at the Comedy Club in The Rivera in Las Vegas, the Improv in Los Angeles
and Irvine, then she moved on to Ohio, opening for Margaret Cho at The
Ice House in Pasadena. She continued with regular shows at Hamburger Mary’s
in Long Beach, and at the grand openings of Hamburger Mary’s in
Phoenix, Arizona and Washington D.C.
She could
always be counted on for benefits for her 12-step program. She filled
the Warner Grand Theatre, and set a new higher bar or benefit for House
of Hope.
Kat was
generous and loyal to her friends, who in turn returned that generosity
and loyalty. She loved animals, and always had at least one dog. She leaves
behind Sparky, now with his Grandma, Lea.
In her
final days, Kat’s love and caring resulted in a tremendous outpouring
of love and support from her many friends and neighbors both to her and
to her mother. Kat was able to recognize everyone, and talk to them.
