Gerald E. Haskett (Jerry) was born August 13, 1926 in Columbus, Ohio. He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II.
In August of 1961 the family, consisting of wife Barbara, son William and daughter Kathy headed west to Long Beach, California. He was employed by the Long Beach Unified School District as a school bus driver and later as a mechanic.
Jerry was a golfer of high achievement, playing at Lakewood Country Club a number of years and later at Sky Links Golf Course. He also belonged to the Rockwell/Boeing Space Golf Club.
Jerry is survived by his wife Barbara, son William, daughter-in-law Madeleine, daughter Kathy, son-in-law Jared and grandson Jakob Gerald Danis. A daughter, Susan Prutting lives in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
