A memorial service for Elnora Haas, 88, of Artesia, California will be Tuesday, April 11, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Aberdeeen, South Dakota. Pastor Brian Idt will officiate. A local memorial service will be held at Concordia Lutheran Church in Cerritos, California on Saturday, April 22, 2006 at 2:00 p.m.
Elnora passed away April 1, 2006 in Artesia, California. She was born Elnora Augusta Anna Weismantel on November 8, 1917 to William and Ida (Schliebe) Weismantel in the Columbia area. She graduated from Columbia High School in 1939 and then attended Northern State Teachers College, Aberdeen, South Dakota. She taught in local rural schools. She moved to California in 1943 and was employed as a computer specialist at the U.S. Naval Base in San Pedro, California until her retirement.
She married Clyde L. Haas on September 27, 1947 in Long Beach, California. There they lived all their married lives. Elnora was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church, Cerritos, California.
Elnora was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, her parents, three brothers and two sisters. She is survived by five sisters, one brother and many nieces and nephews.
