Ann Shirley Herbert Broome (Shirley) was born on March 26, 1939 to Cleve and Nera Herbert in Moorehaven, Florida.
As a young woman, Shirley moved to Compton, California where she met the love of her life, Ezell Broome, Sr. (Jack). Following a courtship, Jack and Shirley were married on August 9, 1957. The two were married for forty-seven years. The couple was blessed with three children; Sheila Lorraine Thompson, Cynthia Diane and Ezell, Jr.
Shirley was an amazing wife and mother. She worked side-by-side with her husband in their family-owned dental business. In 1990, Shirley accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. Shirley is survived by her husband Ezell Broome, Sr., her children, Sheila Lorraine Thompson, Cynthia Broome Hoyd, Ezell Broome, Jr. and her grandson, Keith Maurice Hoyd, Jr. Her surviving siblings are Helen Madden, Henry Herbert, Cleve Herbert, Juanita Ray, and a deceased sister Elizabeth Gibbs. Shirley also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews and valued friends. Shirley was called to home to the Lord on August 15, 2005 at Hoag Memorial Hospital in Newport Beach, California.
